Congratulations! You’ve completed your Heartland Payroll/Employee Navigator synchronization
setup. Your API status has been set to “On”. Any changes to the shared data fields will now pass
freely between both systems.
Tips to remember for maintaining a successful integration:
All new hires, terminations, rehires and compensation changes must be initiated in Heartland Payroll
New hires will show in the ‘Employees missing HR required fields’ section on your ‘Homepage’ in
Employee Navigator under 'Things to do'.
To complete the process of creating the new hires profile and assign the proper Payroll Group and
Benefit Class in Employee Navigator, follow this pathway in Employee Navigator → Homepage →
Things to do → Complete Hire. If applicable, be sure to send the employee the registration/login
information email to enroll in benefits.
Deductions - If you under withhold or over withhold an employee’s deduction, which causes a need
to adjust a benefit deduction, you will need to make those changes in Payroll by adding a one-time
adjustment.
For ensuring data accuracy, we recommend you review your transmission dashboard in Employee
Navigator to ensure data is flowing successfully as expected. This can be found under the Payroll
tab → View Transmissions.
